Over the last 40 years, my passion for creating has expanded into different areas.
Working with quality fabrics and materials to create lasting, unique products is my main goal.
Seeing the satisfaction my customers get from my creations brings me joy.
The Idea
Rita has been sewing for over 40 years and has vast experience.
Her sewing days began in her childhood. She started making her own clothes at a young age, with the occasional guidance of her mother.
In recent years she has moved her focus to create a range of leather bags - including convertible leather backpacks and handbags - developing styles from customer requests and her own love of fashion.
As a designer, she believes making products that are well made, easy to use, elegant and simple, she can enhance her customers lives.

Style & Quality
All products are made from top quality materials that Rita has sourced from Australia and around the world.
Leathers are purchased in Australia but made in Italy to highest standard.
Fabrics are mainly from Australia, UK and the USA.
Schianto Handmade style is one of simplicity of design, quality of materials and made for comfort and ease of use and maintenance.
Rita buys materials in small quantities so as to keep up with trends, but mainly to assist with individuality of finished product.
